The Blackstone Valley Spinners exploded for seven runs in the second inning, cruising to a 10-0 shutout mercy-rule victory over the Lunenburg Phillies in Game 2 of Saturday’s doubleheader at Renaud Field.

 

The Spinners got on the board in the bottom of the first with a groundout by Jack Dwyer that plated a run, setting the tone for the offense. In the second inning, the Spinners broke the game wide open. Marcus Baker doubled, driving in two runs, followed by an RBI single from Chris Goode. Dwyer was hit by a pitch to force in a run, Donavon Lopez singled home two more, and Tanner Gauthier capped the rally with a bases-loaded walk.

 

The offense stayed hot in the third, adding two more runs on RBI singles from Tyler Bellan and Aidan McEvoy.

Justin Odsen earned the win with a dominant performance, throwing a complete game five-inning shutout. Odsen allowed just three hits while striking out eight and walking one. His effort marked the third consecutive complete game thrown by a Spinners starting pitcher.

Blackstone Valley Spinners took the opener of Saturday’s doubleheader with a 5-1 victory over the Lunenburg Phillies at Renaud Field.

 

Lunenburg struck first with a run in the second inning, but the Spinners quickly responded. A passed ball in the bottom of the third allowed Blackstone Valley to tie the game at one.

 

The Spinners broke the tie in the fourth, capitalizing on a costly error that brought home two runs. Moments later, Rylan Secovich delivered an RBI single to extend the lead to 5-1, where it would stay for the remainder of the game.

Will Ernst earned the win for the Spinners, tossing a complete game. The right-hander allowed just four hits and one run over seven innings while striking out six and walking one.

 

Secovich led the offense with two runs batted in, going 1-for-2 on the day. JP Lucier, batting out of the eighth spot, collected two hits in two at-bats to pace the lineup. The Spinners displayed patience at the plate, drawing six walks as a team, and turned one double play defensively.

The Spinners jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the first, capitalizing on a pair of walks. Jack Dwyer drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home the game’s first run.

 

The offense added insurance with runs in the third and fourth innings. Palardy helped his own cause with an RBI single, while Colin Favata also drove in a run. Palardy, Rylan Secovich, Donavon Lopez, and Marcus Baker each recorded hits for the Spinners.

The Spinners opened the scoring in the second inning after Tanner Gauthier and Aiden Hochwarter each drew bases-loaded walks, followed by Marcus Baker grounding into a fielder’s choice that plated another run. Tyler Bellan added to the lead in the third with a sacrifice fly.

 

After Lunenburg tied the game in the fifth, the Spinners responded immediately, putting up four runs in the sixth. Baker singled down the right field line to bring one home, followed by a Kyler Lorenz walk, a Chris Goode RBI single to center, and a Jack Dwyer groundout that added another.

 

James Borsari got the start on the mound, tossing four and one-third innings and allowing just two earned runs while striking out five. The bullpen took over from there, with Ethan Harnois, Easty Gousie, and Justin Odsen combining for shutout relief to close out the win.

Despite a strong defensive showing, including four double plays and zero errors, the Spinners struggled to produce runs in the series opener.

 

Will Ernst got the start on the mound and battled through five innings, allowing three runs on seven hits while walking three. Ernst was able to keep the Spinners in the game, but the offense couldn’t find enough support.

 

The Spinners managed just four hits on the day, with Kyle Palardy, Aidan McEvoy, Tyler Bellan, and Donavon Lopez each collecting one. Lopez drove in the lone Spinners run with a base hit in the sixth inning. Defensively, the Spinners were flawless, turning four double plays and staying clean in the field, with McEvoy leading the way with seven defensive chances.

The game ended after five innings, with the Spinners taking care of business early and never looking back.

 

A seven-run outburst in the bottom of the first set the tone. Goode got things started with a two-run single, Kyler Lorenz drew a bases-loaded walk, Donavon Lopez drove in two more with a double, and JP Lucier followed with a two-run double of his own.

 

Kyle Palardy earned the win and complete game on the mound, going five full innings and allowing just two runs on five hits. He struck out four and walked only one in a sharp performance that kept Auburn from building any momentum.

The Blackstone Valley Spinners came up short on Monday night, dropping a 7-4 contest to Tatnuck at Quinsigamond Community College.

 

After falling behind 3-0 through the first three innings, the Spinners rallied in the top of the sixth. Tyler Bellan worked a walk, an error allowed another run to cross, Colin Favata delivered a sacrifice fly, and Kyler Lorenz capped off the inning with an RBI single down the right field line to give Blackstone Valley a brief 4-3 lead.

 

However, the lead was short-lived, as Tatnuck responded in the bottom half of the frame and pulled away late.

Owen Aivaliotis started the game on the mound for the Spinners, tossing two innings and allowing two runs on five hits while striking out three. Ethan Harnois took the loss in relief despite striking out three and walking none in his lone inning of work.

 

At the plate, Kyler Lorenz led the offense with a 2-for-3 effort and an RBI. Defensively, the Spinners were sharp, playing error-free baseball with Colin Bradford recording a team-high seven chances in the field.

The Blackstone Valley Spinners rolled to a dominant 9-2 win over the B’Town Knights on Saturday night under the lights at Richardson Field in Bellingham, MA.

 

The Spinners opened the scoring in the top of the third inning after JP Lucier ripped a double down the right field line and Alex Currie followed with a line-drive single to center, each driving in a run. The offense continued to apply pressure throughout the game, piling up 12 total hits. Aiden Hochwarter led the team with two RBIs from the eight spot in the order, while Kyle Palardy, Tanner Gauthier, and Marcus Baker each tallied two hits.

 

On the mound, the Spinners showcased their depth and command. Ethan Harnois started the game with two scoreless innings, striking out two while allowing just one hit. Easty Gousie followed with two hitless innings to earn the win, punching out two and walking one. Hochwarter closed out the game with a dominant frame of relief, striking out two and walking none.

The Blackstone Valley Spinners pushed their win streak to four games on Friday night, edging out Tatnuck (CNEBA) in a 2-1 pitcher’s duel. With the win, the Spinners improve to 4-1 and leapfrog Auburn in the league standings.

 

Right-hander Will Ernst got the job done on the mound, tossing four shutout innings while scattering four hits and striking out five. Patrick O’Connell followed with a clean inning in relief to help secure the victory. All the offense came in the top of the fifth when Chris Goode delivered a clutch two-run double, scoring the game’s only runs for Blackstone Valley. Goode finished 1-for-2, while Kennedy Arias led the offense with a 2-for-3 day. The Spinners defense was rock solid behind their pitchers, committing zero errors and turning in a clean performance in the field.

The Blackstone Valley Spinners (CNEBA) rallied late to defeat the Shrewsbury Dirt Dogs 6-3 on Thursday night at Renaud Field, extending their winning streak to three games.

 

After trailing early, the Spinners turned the tide in the bottom of the sixth inning, exploding for five runs on four hits to take a 6-3 lead. Aiden Hochwarter came through with a clutch two-run single to give the Spinners the lead. Hochwarter, hitting out of the eight spot, finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

 

James Borsari earned the win in relief, entering the game with the bases loaded and no outs in the top of the fifth and preserving a 3-1 deficit. The right-hander tossed 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up just two hits while striking out five. Kyle Palardy started the game for Blackstone Valley, going four innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out six.

 

Chris Goode led the Spinners at the plate with a 2-for-3 performance with a double and a run scored, while Colin Favata added pressure on the bases with two stolen bags. The Blackstone Valley Spinners (CNEBA) earned a 4-1 victory over Tatnuck on Monday evening at Renaud Field.

 

After giving up a run in the top of the first, the Spinners responded quickly. In the bottom half of the inning, Jack Dwyer singled to center to drive in a run, and Colin Favata followed with a groundout that brought in another, putting the Spinners ahead 2-1.

 

Kyle Palardy took the mound to start the game and picked up the win. The right-hander tossed three and one-third innings, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out four and walking none. He was followed by scoreless outings from Will Ernst and Easty Gousie. Thomas Papagni closed out the game and secured the save with a clean seventh.

The Spinners out-hit Offshore four to three and received a dominant showing from their pitching staff, which combined for 13 strikeouts while allowing just three hits and five walks.

 

Aidan McEvoy led the Spinners offensively, going 2-for-3 with an RBI single in the bottom of the first. Marshall Quinley added an RBI walk in the opening frame, and James Borsari contributed another in the third to extend the Spinners’ early lead. The team showed patience at the plate, drawing seven walks, with Borsari and Chris Goode each reaching base twice via the free pass.

 

Starter Kyle Palardy set the tone on the mound, striking out five and allowing just one hit over three scoreless innings. After a scoreless first inning, the Spinners gave up a string of early runs and struggled to recover offensively. Starting pitcher Domenic Brazeau battled through three innings, allowing just two earned runs on four hits while striking out five and walking one.

 

Left fielder Rylan Secovich sparked the offense with a double, and Chris Goode delivered the Spinners’ lone run with an RBI triple—part of his 2-for-3 performance at the plate. The team also turned a clean double play defensively but couldn’t generate enough momentum to close the gap.

The Spinners and Offshore combined for 23 hits, with Blackstone Valley tallying 11 of them. Offshore struck first in the opening inning via a bases-loaded walk, but the Spinners answered immediately in the second with two runs—one on a Colin Bradford groundout and another on a bases-loaded walk by Kyler Lorenz.

 

A third-inning RBI double by Aidan McEvoy extended the lead, and the bats erupted in the fifth with six runs on six hits. Lorenz, Tanner Gauthier, Dwyer, and Aiden Hochwarter all contributed key RBIs during the inning, putting the Spinners firmly in control.

The Blackstone Valley Spinners are gearing up for a highly anticipated home-and-home weekend series against Offshore of the George Donnelly Sunset League. The two-game set kicks off on Saturday, May 17th, with the Spinners hitting the road to take on Offshore at McCarthy Field in West Warwick, RI with first pitch scheduled for 4:00 PM. This preseason / non-league matchup offers the Spinners an opportunity to test themselves against one of Southern New England's respected amateur clubs as they continue to evaluate their summer roster and build momentum for the 2025 CNEBA campaign.

 

The series will shift to Renaud Field in Woonsocket, RI on Sunday, May 18th, where the Spinners will host Offshore for a 4:00 PM rematch on their home turf. With both teams looking to establish early-season rhythm and bragging rights of the yearly preseason contests, fans expect competitive baseball and a showcase of top-level local talent. These back-to-back contests provide the Spinners a valuable test and a chance to fine-tune their chemistry before heading into the regular season.

Blackstone Valley Spinners Officially Open 2025 Preseason Practices This Week

 

The Blackstone Valley Spinners are back on the diamond as they officially kick off preseason practices for the 2025 summer campaign this Tuesday, May 14th, with a follow-up session scheduled for Thursday, May 16th. With the first preseason matchup looming just days away, the Spinners are eager to get to work and lay the foundation for what promises to be a highly competitive season in the Central New England Baseball Association (CNEBA).

 

Led by Head Coach J.P. Lucier and General Manager/President Marshall Quinley, the Spinners will use these opening practices to evaluate their revamped summer collegiate roster, sharpen fundamentals, and build team chemistry. With a mix of returning leaders and new talent from collegiate programs across the region, the energy is high as the club gets its first reps of the season in. The Spinners are focused and motivated as they prepare for their first test—a preseason weekend series with the Offshore baseball club this Saturday in West Warwick, RI followed by Sunday in Woonsocket, RI.
